The Indian monsoon is peak season somewhere else. May to September lines up with long summer breaks and the best weather across big chunks of the world — often at lower prices.
June to August is prime time across Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain and Greece — long daylight, open mountain passes and warm coastlines. It’s the classic family-holiday window, so book early.
Summer is Europe’s best season and its busiest. The trick isn’t avoiding it — it’s booking two to three months ahead.
The Maldives green season (May–October) means the same overwater villa for up to a third less, with warm, quick showers rather than washouts. Bali and Mauritius are also lovely through these months.
Head north to Kazakhstan, Georgia and Azerbaijan, or up into Nepal’s hills — comfortable temperatures while the plains swelter.
Because it’s off-peak for beach Asia (Thailand, Vietnam), you’ll find genuine deals there too, with rain that usually clears fast. Pack a light rain layer and you’re set.
